A SHIELD OF SORROW by Kate Avery Ellison - Review

February 18, 2019

My rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars

Publication Date: April 2018

Publisher: Kate Avery Ellison

Point of View: 3rd Person

Genre: YA Fantasy Adventure

Still not sure how I feel about Prince Jehn. I’m just not convinced he’s worth the loyalty and service. Granted, this book wasn’t kind to him, but . . . yeah. He just isn’t always the noblest of souls, is he? More than happy to use his friends as his tools.

Continuing to enjoy all the angst keeping Briand and Kael trapped in their slow-burn romance. I love every moment of progression, but I equally love all the drama keeping them apart. It’s just the kind of suspense that keeps me turning pages. (But after all this, they BETTER get their happy ending! I’m just saying!!)

The action is intense, the drama is high, and all the complex pieces of this puzzle are ready to fall together. I’m eager to see Briand grow in her Dragonslayer abilities and hopefully bring this war to an end at last.
